Wildlife and Hunting

If you enjoy hunting, we have acres of timber, CRP,  and milo stubble for quality hunting of turkeys, pheasants, quail, and deer.  Wake for a hearty breakfast and hit the fields early  to watch the pheasants fly, hear the turkeys gobbling in the creek, or spot that perfect buck.  The habitat in our area in north central Kansas is known to attract large whitetail and mule deer, as well as good turkey and pheasant population.  Just outside the inn in 2005, a Missouri hunter found his buck to take home.

After hunting the fields all day, gather around the firepit area in the evening and enjoy the stars in the big open sky and the camaraderie with your buddies.

Meals

We provide a hearty continental breakfast so that you can start off your day of hunting according to your own schedule.  Also included in your hunting package is a full noon or evening meal.  We make every effort to accommodate your hunting day.

Hunting Equipment

Bring along your hunting clothing with hunters' blaze orange vests or coats, your guns and ammunition, an ice chest for you to take your dressed meat home, and applicable hunting licenses.  If you like to hunt with dogs, please bring your hunting dog.  We have outdoor shelter available.

Location

PrairieSide Inn is in northcentral Kansas just northwest of the small town of Denmark. Both commercial and private aircraft fly into the Salina Airport, and we are located just a little over an hour northwest of Salina.  The Wichita Airport is just a little over two hours away.   Rental cars and vans are available at both airports. 

To reach PrairieSide from Salina or Wichita, travel north on I-35 and then west on I-70 until you reach Exit 216 where you will turn right and travel 17 miles north, 2 miles west, and .2 mile north.  If you are coming from the west, travel down I-70 until you reach Exit 216, and then follow the above directions to PrairieSide.  Highway K-18, which runs just 5 miles from our location, is a great highway too if that route fits in with your travel plans.
